Before you delve into my review, it’s crucial to note that I am rating the iPhone 12 Pro with a 4.5 out of 5, acknowledging its remarkable features but also bearing in mind some minor flaws that could see improvement.

The iPhone 12 Pro, part of Apple’s 2020 flagship series, is not only a trendsetter but also a harbinger of innovative technology. This luxurious smartphone successfully procures the intersection of design, features, and performance.
With a meticulous blend of metal and glass, the iPhone 12 Pro boasts an elegant yet robust design reminiscent of the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5’s edges. The Ceramic Shield front cover is advertised to provide 4x better drop performance. Its 6.1″ Super Retina XDR display is nothing short of sublime, with a fantastic color balance, contrast, and high brightness levels that make viewing under direct sunlight or dark environments a joy.
The versatility in its photographic capability is where the iPhone 12 Pro significantly stands out. The device encompasses three 12MP cameras: ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto, supplemented with a LiDAR scanner for Night mode portraits, offering a greater level of detail and color accuracy. The photos captured during daylight are vivid, rich in detail, and the Pro’s night mode is arguably the best currently in the market.
The A14 Bionic chip lets the iPhone 12 Pro deliver smooth performance while multitasking, or even during heavy-duty gaming sessions. The 5G capability equips you with phenomenally fast and robust internet connectivity, although this is largely dependent on network providers and local 5G infrastructure.
Despite the impressive specifications, this device isn’t flawless. The 2815mAh battery could have been more powerful as you might find yourself running for the charger before hitting bedtime, especially during the extensive usage days. This lag in battery performance could be a bit of a disappointment for power users.
Also, not everyone might need the superior camera system and the LiDAR scanner of the Pro model. For those, the iPhone 12, which shares the A14 Bionic chip, 5G, and the design language, could be a more value-for-money option.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a luxury smartphone with great performance, beautiful design, and top-notch camera, the iPhone 12 Pro is a great choice. However, considering the premium price tag, it may not be ideal for someone looking for more battery life or a more affordable 5G iPhone option.
I’ve rated the iPhone 12 Pro with a 4.5 out of 5, acknowledging its brilliant display, fantastic camera system, and stunning design. Yet, the less than optimal battery life and the premium pricing, which may not provide ample value-for-money for all, led to a half-point reduction.
Note: The usual caveat applies that experience with smartphones can be subjective, and what works great for me might not for you and vice versa.
