Product Review:
I have used the Apple AirPods Pro now for a little over three months, and I think it’s safe to say I’m thoroughly impressed.
The AirPods Pro boast a significant upgrade from their predecessors with active noise cancellation, enhanced sound quality, and the welcome introduction of an “in-ear” fit. The overall sound quality is improved with a notable balance between the lows, mids, and highs. The AirPod’s Pro lightweight design and three sizes of soft, flexible silicone tips ensure a comfortable fit and experience over prolonged usage.
Although small, one of the most transformative features of the AirPods Pro is the noise cancellation. When the setting is turned on, it creates an impressively noise-free soundscape, allowing you to focus solely on your music, podcast, or call. Coupled with a ‘transparency’ mode, it enables you to simultaneously listen to music while hearing the environment around you, vital for those morning jogs or cycling.
Battery life, a key concern for many users, is not an issue with the AirPods Pro. The product promises up to 4.5 hours of listening time with a single charge (with active noise cancellation on). Moreover, the carrying case provides additional multiple charges for more than 24 hours of listening time.
On the other hand, the “Force Sensor” interface – which replaces the tap mechanism on earlier AirPods – takes some getting used to. The new interface requires you to pinch the stem of the AirPod to pause music, skip tracks, or switch between noise cancellation and transparency mode. While it is intended to be an upgrade, it is not immediately intuitive and takes some time to get used to.
An important thing to note is its premium price. At $249, it surely isn’t budget-friendly. As such, these are targeted more towards Apple loyalists willing to shell out a bit more for a high-quality product that seamlessly integrates with their other Apple devices.
Despite that, the combination of high-quality sound, excellent noise cancellation, and smooth integration with iOS devices makes the AirPods Pro a worthwhile accessory for anyone heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem.
In conclusion, despite the slightly high price point and the learning curve with the new interface, the sheer quality of the product, coupled with its features, make it a worthy investment. I would give the Apple AirPods Pro a 4.5 out of 5 stars rating.
