My review pertains to Apple’s flagship wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro. Having used these for close to a year now, I can confidently say they’re one of the leading earbuds in the market in terms of convenience, sound quality, and the overall user experience.
The AirPods Pro sports a minimalistic yet elegant design that is signature of Apple products. With a compact, lightweight build and soft silicone tips, they offer great comfort during extended periods of use. The case, though slightly chunkier than its predecessor, sports a wireless charging feature and neatly fits into most pockets.
When it comes to sound quality, Apple’s Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) takes center stage – it’s impressively effective. It dramatically filters out background noise, offering an uninterrupted audio experience which proved useful during gym workouts or noisy commutes. The Transparency Mode allows external sounds when you need to be aware of your surroundings, working nearly as well as not wearing earbuds at all. The AirPods Pro delivers on clarity, balanced tonality, and punchy bass. It also maintains a decent seal in the ear, providing noteworthy passive noise isolation.
The syncing process is a breeze, particularly for Apple device users. They seamlessly connect with iPhones, Macs, or iPads and switch between devices fluidly. However, for Android or Windows users, the functionality can be slightly hampered. The battery life is satisfactory, with roughly 4-5 hours of continuous playtime, and a total of 24 hours with a fully charged case.
The AirPods Pro also scores high on the workout usability index. They are sweat and water-resistant, and with the right fit, they stay snug in your ears even during intense workouts.
The only downsides, albeit minor, are the touch controls and pricing. The pressure-sensitive stem sometimes failed to register touch commands. Getting the hang of volume control and skipping tracks took some time. As for the pricing, they are on the expensive side, but the attributes justify the cost.
In summary, Apple AirPods Pro offers excellent sound quality, active noise cancellation, seamless integration with Apple devices, and a comfortable fit. Despite being slightly pricey, they guarantee value for money, especially for users ingrained in the Apple ecosystem. For these reasons, I rate Apple AirPods Pro 4.5 out of 5 stars. They certainly deliver an immersive audio experience, and the design and convenience are unrivaled. Whether you’re an audiophile, a fitness enthusiast, or a regular user, the AirPods Pro won’t disappoint.
